ImageTag Patents ImageTag has developed a broad portfolio of intellectual property and is the owner of six United States patents, as well as numerous foreign patents. Our patents protect the core elements of the KwikTag process that make it truly unique. Additional patents are now pending, in both the United States and throughout the world. One of the most important ImageTag patents describes a method for separating the scanning, indexing and storage processes. Using the KwikTag software, a user can index their documents prior to scanning them. By treating these activities as discrete and independent components of a larger process, office workers can scan their documents whenever, and wherever it’s most convenient. Another notable ImageTag patent covers the creation and assignment of number sequences used for indexing documents to individual users. The process allows each office worker to control their own sequence of globally unique numbers. This ensures that each user’s particular document identification schemes will not conflict with any other user. ImageTag has also patented a highly-efficient process to inventory documents stored in records storage cartons. Numerous trademarks identify and brand the solutions provided by ImageTag. For example, we have automatic controls to ensure that every received document and page gets scanned and stored digitally. These controls are called VeriTag®, and are included in every KwikTag system. An example of one of our trademarked supply items is KwikPaper®. This is a clear slip sheet that stores odd sized documents, like receipts, so that they can be placed in copiers or fax machines for easy stacked feeding. We have invested significant capital and man hours to make KwikTag simple, productive and foolproof. Our intellectual property protects these investments and gives us market advantage with the exclusive rights to sell and market our innovations.
