A Primer on Document and Transactional Content Management

There’s a big, wide world out there that some call Enterprise Content Management or ECM.  Here at ImageTag, we can prove our statement that KwikTag is the leader in Transactional Content Management, or TCM.  But, we realize that you are just starting your journey and want to understand what is possible and where to look for it…and we want to help you.  First a little background and acronym explanations:

Enterprise Content Management

ECM refers to any number of applications and technologies, roughly divided into three categories: Web Content Management for the creation, organizing and maintenance of websites; Document Imaging, the roots of KwikTag with scan and retrieval of documents and expanding into Business Process Management and Case Management (the recognition that documents generally travel together in case files), requiring flexible tools to manage the routing, approval and handling of document processes; and collaborative document management which started as shared repositories for electronic documents for teams, conversations and revisions, and now extending information outward with internal and external Web portals.

Transactional Content Management

TCM brings document imaging and collaborative document management (with SharePoint being a leader in this space) together with transactional business systems (also with an acronym, ERP), such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, AX and NAV.  This is where KwikTag lives and grows—associating documents with other documents, cases, collaborative systems, transactions and processes so you achieve a productive business with minimal paper, streamlined processes, and lower costs with access to documentation when and where you need it.

Now, ready to drop the acronyms and learn about “paperless nirvana” and what you can really achieve?  Visualize your business without paper…
